Goals:
- This course is designed to provide an in-depth study of selected areas in computer graphics leading to the ability to understand contemporary terminology, progress, issues, and trends.
- Topics which will be covered include: 3-D modeling, hidden surfaces, surface reconstruction, shading, texture mapping, ray tracing, radiosity, anti-aliasing, and animation techniques.
- The interdisciplinary nature of computer graphics is emphasized in the wide variety of examples and applications presented with both slide and video materials.
Prerequisites:
Students are required to have completed COSC 4370 (Interactive Computer Graphics) or a similar undergraduate course prior to enrolling in this course (in that case permission of the instructor is required).
Evaluation:
The course grade will be computed as follows:
- Exams: 35%
- Individual Assignments: 30%
- Team Project: 30%
- Class Participation: 5%
